It is the time of the year again where we have to re-align ourselves with the will of God through prayer and fasting. Ever since I have started to fast, testimonies of breakthroughs, healing, deliverance and many others have come to pass. God is really so faithful to fulfill His promises if we just humble down ourselves before Him.
I was very expectant for this time of fasting. Sometimes I have been so drowned with all the voices of the world that I needed to sharpen my ears to hear God's voice more than anything. My starting prayer was for God to fill His presence in a powerful way in my life. All my activities had also conflicted with my quiet time with God, sometimes I felt His presence move away, but I could not let that happen. So I am very much thankful for this time of fasting again because I can separate myself from the world and just enjoy an intimate time with God and take notice of the more important things. On a side note, we do not need to wait for a time of corporate fasting in order to re-align ourselves to God. We can deliberately decide to do it as a lifestyle whenever we want to be closer to the Lord.
Here are God's revelation to me during the time of fasting:
1. SET YOUR HEART ON FIRE!
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”-Exodus 3:4
God revealed Himself to Moses through the burning bush. He is an unquenchable fire. Warm and untamable . I can remember the feeling when I started to receive Jesus in my life. I was a "soul on fire". Always positive and ready to share God's word to others, no one could stop me. Then as we go with our times of rough walk, sometimes we just feel so dry that we wish that we could go back again when we were still burning for God. But it cannot be done by our own efforts. God is in the business of revealing Himself in fresh new encounters. If we could just seek Him with all our heart like searching for a precious jewel, then surely God rewards us with His presence. So at the time of prayer & fasting, we sit still, silence the voice of the world, and just bask in His loving presence. It feels so good to be refreshed and be on fire again for His glory!
2. INTEGER OR INTEGRITY?
And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.-Genesis 39:10
In one devotional, I have read that integrity can be related to integer. An integer is a whole number, no more no less. It is not a fraction nor a decimal. It is whole in itself. Integrity is similar in a way that one has to be the same inside and out. Whatever the outside circumstances may be, the stand remains the same. Whether in public or in private, you would still do the same thing.
God allows things to happen in order to shape our integrity. When He revealed this to me, I've never looked at integrity the same way. I just realized during the fast that He gave me situations to test my integrity. Deep within me, I say that I love God and I will be truthful to others. But on the outside, I have motives to cheat on my neighbor. That is divided. I said one thing and did another. So my prayer is that God will give me an undivided heart, to take captive of my thoughts so that it would be obedient to Christ.
3. CAN THESE DRY BONES LIVE?
This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I
will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you
with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you
will know that I am the Lord. -Ezekiel 37:5-6
On the third day of prayer and fasting, God reminded me through our pastor about the dry bones of our lives. I have read one quote by Les Brown that says :
“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry our their dream.”
Praise God that He revealed these things while we are still on earth! Though we have dreams, hopes and goals that have died down, just one breath from Him, and all the tendons, flesh and skin will appear. We may have forgotten about those dreams, but God as not! He wants us to reach to our highest potential. My prayer is that God will breath life to my dry bones. By His grace, I can do all things!
4. TESTIMONIES!
Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. -Isaiah 65:24
While I was on my room seeking God's will of my life, I wrote my faith goals on my notebook. At that moment, God had answered one of my prayers that I have been praying for 6 years! On the second and third day, God answered two specific things that I have been praying for. Then I came across this verse, I feel God speaking to me so clearly. I couldn't thank Him enough for all things He has done! He is indeed so faithful!
Don't forget how BIG you're blessed! Please share your testimonies below! :)
